FREAKS & GEEKS & DRUNKS

I've been doing my semi-annual rewatch of FREAKS AND GEEKS and it's still good as ever. It's going by too fast actually, so I'm gonna have to find something else to rewatch while I draw and isolate myself from my friends and outside world-- and fast! Did you know that John Lock has the SAME DAD as Nick from FREAKS AND GEEKS? It's all connected... No it's not.

But hey, here's a 'preview' for a new flierI'm working on. This'll be the first time I'm actually drawing all the Night Light characters in one scene, and they're all drinking you under the table from the looks of it.

AUG 28 poster / DINOSAUR PILLS shows

There'll be digital 11x17 prints scattered all over Riverwest and the Eastside, but I might also be making some limited edition screen prints of these too--- if not now hopefully later.

Also, besides THAT show you'll have two more chances to see Dino Pills play this month since we're playing three shows in one week. It's like an all Milwaukee tour, and it's really really stupid, but whatever.

AUG 24 @ Lovemoms 6pm
Bad Blood
Stupid Party
Dinosaur Pills

AUG 28 @ THE VAULT 6pm
The Sleaze

AUG 29 @ Y NOT 3 10pm

EMBARRASSMENT CON '09

So I went to Wizard World Chicago Comic Con (what's it really called now?) yesterday, and met Mike and Laura Allred! I also went there to start promoting NLC again, but meeting them was of equal priority. What will I do when I meet my idol?...

Turn it into a complete horrible awkward mess, that's what.

The Allreds were great. Very patient and personable, but I was a nervous wreck and now they probably think I'm crazy. Worst first impression...

I gave them some of my comics, and said "I think you'll really dig them", but it probably sounded like "muh fla lala labba lubba" or something. Prior to getting a picture together, I said that meeting them was #1 on my list of things to do while I was there. THen when we took the picture Mike said "here, we'll make a Laura sandwich" and I said something about a 'Laura sandwich' also being on my list of things to do. WHAT?!!?!

I don't know why, but I didn't bring anything for them to sign-- but Cole who came with, did. The rest of the time while they signed Cole's stuff, I just stood there sweating and staring when I wasn't stumbling over all my words and questions. Laura offered for us to stick around and talk more while they signed other people's stuff, which was awesome, and I wish I could have, but I needed to run away before I said or did anything else to embarrass myself.

Jeez Louise...

Okay, well, here's some pencils and outlines for a new flyer I'm working on:

I'm also hoping to have the next couple of ORIGINS stories up soon. Cane-Sword Man is next, with Annie & Tracy after that...
