WEBSITE UPDATE

Yeah, this site sucks. Or it's just really slow.... Not sure who comes here, if anyone (cause I don't know how to check that) but if you do-- THANKS! I think in March I'm gonna try to make it look a little nicer, and run a little faster. We'll see. What did you just say Charles Shaw?

ORIGINS Part 7: CHARLIE TABASCO

Read it online HERE! Some of you may recognize this dude from the unfortunately-now defunct MKE zine LOVE IN THE TIME OF SCABIES. Expect a collection of the NLC arc which ran in that --included the never before published conclusion-- sometime later this year.

Does this whole NLC site run slow for you too? I'm gonna try to fix that one day.

Me and HOLY SHIT! leave for tour tomorrow, and I'm excited as hell to get outta here for a while, and especially to be back in New York! That's it for now...

BUZZPOP #2 Review

This one's from RAZORCAKE, and it's nice to actually get some constructive criticism.

I will say that my plan with the BUZZPOP series was to have it be like a sampler platter for all things NLC. A mix of artwork I've done for bands and stuff, but more importantnly to give some back story to my characters (reprinting some older stuff I want 'in continuity') and lay the groundwork for where I want the comics to go. Hence the ORIGINS (also readable online here), which I too admit might not seem 'complete', but by the end of part 9 ("Cat-Man-Do") you'll have all the characters together and you'll kinda know how they ended up that way. I've got a number of things planned out for them and once they're all together things can really get going.

Also, note that the review following BUZZPOP's is for Julia Wertz's FART PARTY, which I highly recommend checking out-- especially if you like getting whiskey drunk, eating cheese, and fucking up at stupid life. Julia's comics are hilarious and relatable without being lame and mushy (most of the time).

More soon...

2010 CONVENTION SCHEDULE so far...

S.P.A.C.E. (Small Press Alternative Comics Expo) April 24-25. I also did four-pager called "HOW'D HE DO THAT" starring Max, Kim, and Charlie for an online S.P.A.C.E anthology which should be out in March I think. How'd WHO do WHAT? Just have to wait.

SPRINGCON CELEBRATION May 15-16
. LOoking forward to getting back to the MN State Fair Grounds. If this is anything like FALLCON it shouuld be pretty fun. The MCBA crew have always done a great job of putting together cons that really cater to the CREATORS-- be it big time or up-and-coming. Great place to find new talent...

WIZARD WORLD CHICAGO COMIC CON Aug. 19-22
Or whatever the hell it's called...
