EMBARRASSMENT CON '09
So I went to Wizard World Chicago Comic Con (what's it really called now?) yesterday, and met Mike and Laura Allred! I also went there to start promoting NLC again, but meeting them was of equal priority. What will I do when I meet my idol?...
Turn it into a complete horrible awkward mess, that's what.
The Allreds were great. Very patient and personable, but I was a nervous wreck and now they probably think I'm crazy. Worst first impression...
I gave them some of my comics, and said "I think you'll really dig them", but it probably sounded like "muh fla lala labba lubba" or something. Prior to getting a picture together, I said that meeting them was #1 on my list of things to do while I was there. THen when we took the picture Mike said "here, we'll make a Laura sandwich" and I said something about a 'Laura sandwich' also being on my list of things to do. WHAT?!!?!
I don't know why, but I didn't bring anything for them to sign-- but Cole who came with, did. The rest of the time while they signed Cole's stuff, I just stood there sweating and staring when I wasn't stumbling over all my words and questions. Laura offered for us to stick around and talk more while they signed other people's stuff, which was awesome, and I wish I could have, but I needed to run away before I said or did anything else to embarrass myself.

Jeez Louise...
Okay, well, here's some pencils and outlines for a new flyer I'm working on:

I'm also hoping to have the next couple of ORIGINS stories up soon. Cane-Sword Man is next, with Annie & Tracy after that...
